Downtown, Little Rock, Arkansas is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in the South. The boundaries of Downtown start at Doctor Martin Luther King Boulevard in the west and move east to Interstate 30, then from the north begin at Interstate 630 and move south to East Roosevelt Drive.
Downtown is in the middle of a major revitalization. There are new buildings going up all over the area, and many of the older and historic buildings are finding new life as condos and apartments to fill the growing demand for downtown living.
Golfers who live in the Downtown area don’t have to travel far to get in a round on the weekends. The War Memorial Golf Course is a public course with a challennging layout and a country club feel. Rebsamen Golf Course is open to the public and is along the Arkansas River, just minutes from Downtown. For those who have the means, the Country Club of Little Rock is the oldest private golf and tennis club west of the Mississippi, and has a spectacular view of Downtown from the links.
Downtown Little Rock has many interesting attractions. The William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library and Museum chronicles the life and career of the 42nd President and houses many of the President’s most important papers. The River Market is one of Little Rock’s premier entertainment districts and is the place to be on a weekend in Downtown. The Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum is acquiring new exhibits all the time and features the USS Razorback, a submarine that draws 30,000 visitors a year.
