The Cloverdale Watson neighborhood is located on the southwest side of Little Rock, Arkansas, about 15 minutes from the center of the city. This community is just minutes from several major highways and is bordered by Interstate 30 and US Highway 67 on the north. Its other boundaries include Mabelvale Cut Off Road on the south, County Road 6 on the west, and Geyer Springs Road on the east. The community is in zip code 72209 and in Polaski County.
Cloverdale Watson is predominately a residential neighborhood, although some commercial and industrial establishments are present, especially along State Highway 338. Small wooded areas create the illusion of several different neighborhoods in one. Two parks are within neighborhood bounds: Ottenheimer Park on the north and Thom Park to the south. The latter is mostly undeveloped, but the former offers some amenities, including a tennis court, walking path, pond, basketball court, and playground. Several more small parks are within a few minutes of this community, including Wakefield Park and Morehart Park.
Students living in Cloverdale Watson attend Watson Elementary, Cloverdale Magnet Middle, and Mc Clellan Magnet High, all within neighborhood bounds.
This community is also convenient to many local shopping, dining, and entertainment options. A grocery is located along the community’s southern border, and several shopping centers exist on the north side of the neighborhood. These include the Cloverdale Plaza, Colony South, and Geyer Springs Shopping Centers. The Southwest Mall, a larger shopping complex, is just outside of community bounds on the northeast.
Golfers living in Cloverdale Watson can frequent one of three courses within two miles to the north, near the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The Hindman Park and Rock Creek Golf Courses are public options, while the Western Hills Country Club offers a semi-private 18-hole course.
