In a northwestern section of the city of Tucson is the neighborhood of Tangerine Hills. The subdivision lies about two miles north of the center of Oro Valley and provides its residents with beautiful views of the Catalina Mountains to the east. It is ideally located, just six miles east of Interstate 10, and includes mostly single-family homes.

Public schooling affords residents of Tangerine Hills the following options. At the elementary-school level, students attend Painted Sky or Copper Creek Elementary schools, while children going to intermediate school enroll at the Richard B. Wilson K-8 School. High school students attend Canyon Del Oro High School or Ironwood Ridge High, each about three miles from the neighborhood. Students who plan on attending college have local options that include Pima Community College and the University of Arizona.

The location of Tangerine Hills gives residents plenty of shopping options. One of the closest is the Oro Valley Marketplace, which has about any store that someone could imagine. The S B Vistoso Shopping Center is also less than a mile from Tangerine Hills. The Foothills Mall is about six miles away.

Arizona is known for quality golf, and Tangerine Hills residents have access to plenty of good courses nearby. The closest is at the Oro Valley Country Club, while the Vistoso Gold Club is under three miles away. Also within five miles of the subdivision are the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort, as well as the Sonoran Course at Omni Tucson National Golf Resort.

Residents can get out and enjoy the sunshine in various parks around Tangerine Hills. Having the Catalina State Park just outside the door helps Tangerine Hills residents get back to nature.
