Sierrita is a neighborhood in Green Valley, Arizona, located 20 miles south of Tucson, Arizona in Pima County. Sierrita is only 40 miles from the Mexican border at Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Because of its high altitude, above three thousand feet, the area is cooler than the desert of Tucson or Phoenix. Many of the homes in Green Valley are for 55-plus. The area is just off Interstate 19 and the South Nogales Highway. The Continental School District provides education for children from kindergarten through graduation. Pima Community College has many sites for college students and the University of Arizona is nearby in downtown Tucson, just a short drive away.
There are many local golf courses in the area and it is also bike-friendly. Many of the local roads have bike lanes and the nearby mountains offer bike trails as well. There are many opportunities for hikers in the thousands of miles of trails in the Santa Rita Mountains.
