Hikers, campers, and picnickers will all enjoy living in Santo Tomas Villas. Located in the Santa Cruz Valley of the Santa Rita Mountains, this neighborhood is close to Sahuarita and Green Valley. Students attend schools the Sahuarita district schools. There are eight colleges within twenty miles of Santo Tomas Villas, including a truck driving college belonging to the University of Arizona-Tucson.
Shopping centers are abundant in both Sahuarita and Green Valley and provide the neighborhood residents with their basic needs, including shopping, restaurants, and banking. Anything that is not available here can be found in Tucson, about thirty miles north on Interstate 19.
Residents to the neighborhood have access to jogging path facilities. It is also close to Anamax Park and Recreation Center. The park includes walking paths, five sports fields, two sports courts, a skating area, a playground area, and picnic areas. It also features Bark Park, a one-acre, off-leash dog park.
Within easy driving distance, Coronado National Forest offers Santo Tomas Villas residents the opportunity to experience all four seasons in a single day. They can start the morning wandering among the giant saguaro cactus in the summer-like weather, move to cooler weather as they play by the mountain streams and then head for Mount Lemmon for an afternoon of winter skiing. While visiting Mount Lemmon, residents can also enjoy an evening of star-gazing at Kitt Peak National Observatory.
Golfers will be in golf-heaven with access to 14 golf courses. Eight courses, including Haven and Canoa Golf Clubs, offer 18 holes. The other six courses are 9-hole courses.
History lovers will enjoy the area, which includes Titan II Missile Museum and the Pima County Air Museum and the missions, San Xavier and Tumacacori.
