The picturesque, tree-lined neighborhood of Pinnacle Ridge in the Catalina Foothills is just north of Tucson. It’s a glorious example of how naturally beautiful a community can be while still technically remaining fully urban in nature.

Bordered on the north by East Skyline Drive and on the east by North Pontatoc Road, Pinnacle Ridge consists truly of just two roads: East Pinnacle Ridge Place and North Pinnacle Ridge Drive. These two short winding roads contain a few dozen large homes, along with plenty of yard space and a pool in the back of nearly every home. A quarter-mile’s distance view to the north contains a skyline of the Santa Catalina Mountains.

Pinnacle Ridge is a gated community, and it’s entirely residential in its makeup. However, a number of businesses are available quite nearby, including those at quasi-shopping centers located on the intersections of East Sunrise Drive and both East Skyline Drive and North Swan Road. Each of these is less than a quarter mile away, and is easily reachable by either car or by foot, though the lack of a sidewalk in this area does make it much more likely for Pinnacle Ridge residents to go shopping via car.

However, one place that residents certainly don’t mind walking to is the gorgeous Skyline Country Club, just across the street from the Pinnacle Ridge gated community entrance. While the clubhouse is more easily reachable by car, many Pinnacle Ridge residents will walk across to the ninth hole and play a round of golf in a nonstandard order. Though the Skyline Country Club has members from all over the surrounding area, residents of Pinnacle Ridge receive a special discount just for living next door.

Yet the most worthwhile part of living in Pinnacle Ridge is not its proximity to shopping or a club, but its distance to Catalina State Park. The park’s over 5,000 acres are lined with trails.
