Naylor Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
A working-class neighborhood southeast of downtown, Naylor is a mixture of apartments and single-family homes. Most houses reflect the Southwestern style of architecture prevalent in the area.
Naylor is bounded by Columbus Boulevard on the west, Swan Street on the east, 22nd Street on the north, and 29th Street on the south, all within the 85711 area code.
Residents enjoy walking down to Swan Park, which is accessible through both Swan Street and 29th Street. The daytime-only park spreads across six rectangular acres, with plenty of green grass and trees to provide a cool spot to relax during hot summer months. The park also includes a playground for children.
Naylor is home to one K-8 school, the Naylor Middle School. The school has a large playground area for children and an athletic field and track for running. In early 2010, The Tucson Unified School District was considering merging the school with another local high school, however the proposal was said to be in the “infant stages.”
The northwest portion of Naylor is a commercial area with a retail shopping center. There are several stores in the area, and the Golden Corral Buffet is the only major restaurant in the neighborhood. The northern boundary of 22nd Street is highlighted by several automotive dealerships.
The Eckstrom-Columbus branch of the Tucson Public Library is located near this shopping complex. Open seven days a week, the library offers many services to residents. Among the regularly-scheduled services provided are English language conversion classes, a knitting and crochet group, homework help for students, and computer classes for teens and adults.
