Located in the southwestern portion of Tucson, the Flowing Wells neighborhood of Lawson Valley is a moderately populated, urban community. West Wetmore Road serves as the northern border of the community, while Roger Road serves as its southern border. Lawson Valley is bordered to the west by North Flowing Wells Road and to the east by North Fairview Avenue.

Lawson Valley is a dog-friendly community. The Desert Dove Veterinary Hospital is located at the northern border of the neighborhood. Jacobs Park, with a nice off-leash dog park, is just a mile from the community. Northwest Center, located to the southeast of Lawson Valley, is another nearby dog park. Pet owners can often be seen walking their dogs down the sidewalk-lined streets of the community as well.

Two major Tucson shopping centers, the Oracle Ridge Shopping Plaza and the Tucson Mall, are located within walking distance to the northeast of Lawson Valley. Tucson Mall houses such major shops as Dillard’s, Sears, Macy’s, and JC Penney. It also has a food court with eateries like Mrs. Field’s Cookies and Olive Garden.

La Paloma Country Club is frequented by several of the wealthier Lawson Valley residents. It holds a beautiful, sprawling golf course, tennis courts, a health and fitness center, a kids’ club, and highly rated restaurants for its members. Active residents also enjoy the nearby Tucson Racker & Swim Club and the El Rio Country Club.

The Happy Art Gallery, a popular Tucson gallery, is less than a mile northeast of Lawson Valley, while Noveaspace Gardens is less than a mile to its southeast.
