Las Lomas DE Kino Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Las Lomas de Kino Neighborhood of Tucson is between the University of Arizona and Catalina State Park, in the 85718 zip code. Its location in the Catalina foothills provides residents with amazing desert views. Las Lomas de Kino’s houses are widely spaced out on top of one of the rising foothills. The neighborhood is bordered by North Ozone Drive at the north, and the end of the cul-de-sacs for both North and East Ozone Drive combine to form the eastern boundary. East Manzanita Avenue borders the south while North Chaparral Avenue borders the west.
To beat the summertime heat the residents can head north to the Oro Valley Municipal Pool, and hit the numerous shopping plazas along the way, including Oracle Crossings, Escondido Plaza, and Magee Plaza. The Ventana Canyon Golf Club is to the east with shopping at La Encantada to the south of the neighborhood. To the west, residents can play golf at the Quail Canyon course.
The Las Lomas de Kino neighborhood was built in the 1980s and has many distinct advantages over some of the newer neighborhoods. Each home is on nearly an acre of land, leaving a good stretch between the houses. The natural topography and desert landscaping keep most properties out of sight, giving a solitary feel to each residence without cutting residents off from their neighbors.
There are no sidewalks in the neighborhood and the narrow roads often have wild desert sage bush and mesquite trees that obstruct the view of the road around the bend. Both motorists and pedestrians should use caution. The main roads south of the neighborhood have designated bike lanes for Las Lomas cyclists who seek to get out and range all around Tucson.
