Many other natural areas also exist on this side of the city, surrounding the scenic Santa Catalina Mountains. These include the Butterfly Peak Natural Area, Santa Catalina Natural Area, and General Hitchcock Picnic Area. Residents frequent these areas for hiking, camping, mountain biking, horseback riding, and picnicking.
