Nestled near the heart of the downtown area, South Addition offers residents plenty to see and do. In addition to residences, several markets, eateries and lodging options found within neighborhood bounds, plenty of cultural attractions and entertainment options are within walking distance north of the neighborhood. Among the attractions here are the Anchorage City Hall, Dena’Ian Civic and Convention Center, Alaska Center – Performing Arts, Anchorage Museum, Historic Anchorage, and the Zumiez Fifth Avenue Mall.

All that separates South Addition residents from all of these amenities is the Delaney Park Strip, an 11-block city park. Named for one of the city’s first mayors, Delaney Park is the oldest park in Anchorage. Today, the park features a long list of amenities and facilities, including several memorials, the Centennial Rose Garden, ice skating area and ice hockey rink, fitness center, winter running route, softball and soccer fields, volleyball courts, and eight tennis courts.
