Vaughn Road is Ridgefield’s northern border, and Fernway Drive is its southern border. Carter Hill Road serves as its western border, while Fieldcrest Drive serves as its eastern border.

It’s a very family-friendly community with many well-regarded public and private schools nearby. The Montgomery Academy, noted for its students’ scholastic achievements, is a quarter-mile to its west. Jefferson Davis High School and Dannelly Elementary School are about half a mile to its southwest. Evangel Christian Academy with its excellent teaching staff is just under a mile to its east.

Educational opportunities in and near the neighborhood expand far beyond the classroom. The Children’s Museum is a half-mile northwest of Ridgefield. The F. Scott Fitzgerald & Zelda Fitzgerald Museum is two miles to its west and offers historical artifacts from the famous writers’ lives. The Rosa Parks Museum, a strong tribute to the strength of the lady and the civil rights movement, is three and a half miles northwest of the neighborhood. The Hank Williams Museum is less than four miles to its northwest.

Several of the wealthier residents are members of the Montgomery Country Club, which is a mile and a half west of Ridgefield. In addition to its sprawling, well-manicured greens, the club offers on-site dining, a fitness center, and a luxurious clubhouse. A couple of other clubs nearby also attract residents. The Standard Country Club is a mile and a half to its southwest, while the Bonnie Crest Country Club is just over three miles to its north.
