The Beau Terra neighborhood is located approximately six miles northwest of downtown, Mobile, Alabama. Beau Terra is encompassed by Bear Fork Road to the north, Highpoint Boulevard to the west, Wolf Ridge Road to the east, and Moffett Road to the south.
The heart of the neighborhood near Scarborough Middle School contains mainly undeveloped land while most of the single-family homes are located on the east side of Beau Terra along Wolf Ridge Road and in the southeast corner along Moffett Road.
Megginson Park is situated in the northern section of Beau Terra, within walking distance from most parts of the neighborhood. Megginson is a nature park offering over 40 acres of natural Carolina beauty for walking among the majestic Carolina trees.
Scarborough Middle School is located on Phillips Lane within the Beau Terra neighborhood. Forest Hill Elementary is just on the south side of Moffett Road less than a half mile from the middle school. Shaw High School is just over two miles to the southwest of Beau Terra. The University of South Alabama is approximately three miles to the southwest, and Spring Hill College is to the south.
Golfers have a choice of golf courses located near Beau Terra. A few miles west is Magnolia Grove Golf Club and to the southwest is Azalea City Golf Club which is adjacent to the University of South Alabama. About 2.5 miles south of Beau Terra is the Spring Hill Golf Course which is next to the Spring Hill College.
Popular shopping destinations for residents of Beau Terra include Forest Hill Shopping Center and Overlook Village Shopping Center – both are only a short drive from the neighborhood. Farther south are Legacy Village at Spring Hill and the Walmart Supercenter. There are various shopping and dining venues surrounding the Walmart area.
Downtown Mobile is a short drive from the Beau Terra neighborhood. Residents can enjoy the museums, fine dining, theaters, and Mobile Bay. While enjoying the Bay, visitors can view or even take a walk on the decks of the USS Alabama which has become one of Mobile’s biggest tourist attractions.
