Dining options include Krystal’s, Wendy’s, O’Charley’s, and Cracker Barrel. There are also several pizza establishments that offer dine-in, take-out, and delivery services.

Public transportation is available through The Wave Transit System. Nine buses serve Mobile County throughout the work week and have limited hours on Saturdays. Bus service is unavailable on Sunday.

Entertainment venues are plentiful in the area. Yorkwood is located less than five miles from the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds, and it hosts several events each year. Catching a movie is convenient for residents of Yorkwood since the Carmike Cinema’s Wynnsong 16 is located within two miles of the community. There are also several museums, botanical gardens, parks, clubs, and lounges within a fifteen-minute commute from the neighborhood.

The Cottage Hill Park has a large playground with a separate toddler play area, tennis courts, a running trail, rest facilities, and a large picnic area with a pavilion. The park is located just three miles from Yorkwood.
