Second Creek is a residential neighborhood located approximately 10 miles southwest of Downtown Mobile, Alabama. The heart of the neighborhood is situated south of Charlanda Boulevard and east of Ridgeline Drive. Although there are a handful of single-family, ranch-style homes scattered throughout the neighborhood, much of the Second Creek area is undeveloped. More residential homes can be found along Ridgeline Drive and Creekwood Place Drive.

Second Creek is encompassed by Grelot Road to the north, Schillinger Road South to the west, Cottage Hill Road to the south, and County Road 37 to the east. The neighborhood is located in the 36695 zip code in Mobile County. Public schools in the vicinity of Second Creek include O’Rourke Elementary, Bernice J. Causey Middle, Burns Middle, and Davidson High School.

Just to the east of Second Creek is Cottage Hill Park. This large facility provides a playground, picnic area, and a path for walking. Also offered at the park are various athletic fields and tennis courts.

Approximately 2 miles to the northwest of Second Creek is the Mobile Regional Airport. There are various shopping and dining venues surrounding the airport for Second Creek residents to utilize. Many of the larger chain stores are situated to the southeast of the airport along Schillinger Road. Just east of this area is Providence Hospital situated on Airport Boulevard. To the west of Providence Hospital is Optimist Lake. Less than a mile to the southeast is Crystal Lake. All of these venues are conveniently located within minutes of Second Creek.

To the southeast of Second Creek are Baypointe Hospital and Infirmary West Hospital. Both of these medical facilities are just west of Westgate Village Shopping Center and approximately 4 miles from the Second Creek neighborhood.
