Located east of the neighborhood, Laun Park is smaller than Cottage Hill Park but also provides athletic fields and courts, picnic areas, a playground, and a wading pool.

Public schools surrounding Rolling Acres include Olive J. Dodge Elementary, Burns Middle, and W.P. Davidson High School. The University of South Alabama is about 3.5 miles north and Spring Hill College is less than five miles to the northeast. The West Regional Library is less than two miles to the north-northeast on Grelot Road.

There is a variety of shopping and dining venues located west of Rolling Acres along Cottage Hill Road which is also County Road 40. Banks, restaurants, clothing stores, pharmacies, and fast-food dining are all available at the intersection area of Cottage Hill Road and Hillcrest Road – only minutes away from Rolling Acres. Less than two miles to the east is Cottage Hill Village Shopping Center or residents can travel a few miles farther northeast to the Bel Air Mall or Springdale Mall.
