The neighborhood of Nevius is located in the city of Mobile, Alabama. It is bordered on the eastern side by Spanish Trail and on the south side by County Road 32. The western boundary is formed by Hillcrest Road. The area is primarily residential, with single-family homes and apartment units, but there are a few businesses and commercial properties in the neighborhood.

East of the neighborhood is the Cypress Creek Country Club and just north of that is the Skyline Country Club. Skyline features an established course with elevated greens and tree-lined fairways. Crestview Park is located nearby and features such amenities as picnic tables and pavilions, tennis courts, basketball courts, softball and baseball fields, and a playground. Also nearby is the Schwarz Park and the Boykin Park.

Shopping is plentiful in the area. Just southeast of Nevius is the Southview Shopping Center and the Cloverleaf Plaza Shopping Center. The area is home to a Walmart Supercenter, Big Lots, Dollar General Store, Hibbert Sports, Walgreens, Wells Fargo Bank, and a Winn Dixie. Dining options are also numerous and choices include Simply Seafood, Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza, Papa John’s Pizza, Bangkok Thai Cuisine, McDonald’s, Burger King, and a Taco Bell. There are several hotels in the vicinity and visitors have many options. They can choose from Rodeway Inn Suites, Super 8 Mobile, Comfort Suites, Days Inn, La Quinta, and Holiday Inn.

Schools in the area include Olive J. Dodge Elementary School, the St. Vincent De Paul School, St. Dominic’s School, Meadowlake Elementary School, Calvary Elementary School, and Burns Middle School.
