Potters Mill is a planned community that can be found off of Slaughter Road in Huntsville, Alabama. The neighborhood itself consists of only a few roads within the 35758 zip code, Potters Wheel, Imogene Way, Millside Lane, Terracotta Lane, Artesian Lane and Wittington Lane. All of the homes here are relatively similar with slightly different brick coloration from one house to the next. There are also some homes with front porch pillars. In the center of Potters Mill is a man-made pond with a fountain. This popular pond is a favorite spot for residents to walk their pets and feed ducks.
Heavily forested, the neighborhood has lots of opportunity to view wildlife. This is especially true along the eastern border of Potters Mill where a nice paved trail can be found. This trail in the middle of the forest is perfect for walkers, runners, and especially cyclists looking for long stretches of pavement for exercise. Connected to many of the major roadways in the area, such as University Drive, the trail makes it possible for residents to access many of the commercial centers of the area without driving.
Many of the schools and even a pre-school can be found along the only road leaving Potters Mill, making the morning commute incredibly convenient for parents. Slaughter Road not only has public schools, put private ones as well giving residents local options for their children that can be reached without going out of their way. Other conveniences include a few fitness centers that are well within walking or biking distance.
