Constellation is a major $150 million mixed-development project meant to replace the old Heart of Huntsville Mall and rejuvenate the downtown Huntsville area. The development is projected to consist of 314 hotel rooms, 63,000 square feet of retail space, 187,000 square feet of office space, and 97 residential units.

Constellation is situated near many of the most popular attractions in Huntsville. It is also just south of Interstate 565, making it highly accessible. One of the largest attractions is the Von Braun Center, which can be found directly across the street from Constellation. Von Braun is a multiple-purpose indoor arena that holds 10,000 people. It is host to concerts, meetings and the performing arts on a regular basis throughout the year. Von Braun consists of a playhouse, concert hall, and facilities for meetings. The facility was named after Werner von Braun, the German scientist who helped to lay the groundwork for bringing the space program to Huntsville.

One of the most interesting destinations is Old Town Historic District between Dement Street and Lincoln Street to the east. This is where many of the oldest buildings in Huntsville can be found, with some homes dating as far back as the 1820s. Homes represent a number of popular styles such as Greek Revival, Victorian, and Queen Anne. This area was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Other important attractions include the Huntsville Museum of Art, Huntsville Madison County Public Library, and Huntsville City Hall, to name only a few of the many features of the area. All of these fascinating attractions are within easy walking distance of Constellation.
